There's another fun Case file over at CSI .. Although at times I do struggle with locating my Mojo, for the most part the issue seems mostly to be that I am trying too hard... Once I get that monkey off my back and create a page simply for the creative fun, then things move a LOT more smoothly...!!

There are many great scrappers and inspiration for everyone... so come join the fun...!!

CSI 332 - Hello My Baby...

I know I've been MIA over the Summer and I am blaming it ALL on my newest little Granddaughter Avery Phoenix. Fortunately Case #332 over at CSI allowed me to use the colours for this project, as the other two files were School related and Avery is a wee bit too young for those photos..!! LOL

I also created the CutFile and textured it with some Texture Paste and a Stencil, both from Ranger Industries..

The papers, labels, birds and epoxy heart are from an older Jillibean Soup Collection that I've been hoarding..

The Fussy Cut Flowers are ones that I stamped and coloured from Altenew..

Hope you all had a great Summer and thanks for looking.

CSI 322 - Jae Happy...

When I first saw this challenge over at CSI, I wasn't sure I liked the colour palette..but as it happened I was looking through some stamps I had and came across some flowers I created for a card several years ago. I had some pink and orange ones and realized how they might look on a scrap page et voila... this layout was born..!!

This page is really all about stamping, fussy cutting, some older chipboard pieces and of course my beautiful granddaughter, too..!!

CSI 318 - Jae Selfie...

A new Month - A new CSI Case File and I have to admit that when I saw the colour palette I instantly thought of skipping this challenge as these are NOT my preferred colours..!! I spent a few days talking to myself and finally realized that I was being a big baby. I was determined to give it a try.

I knew I needed some inspiration so I went to one of my favourite scrapbookers Missy Whidden and studied some of her past layouts. She is absolutely brilliant and I sincerely hope she doesn't mind that I scraplifted a background idea of hers. It was just what I needed to created such a fun page from such a gloomy-doomy beginning..!!

I altered the photo to make it look more like a water colour painting and printed up those camera cats from a former CSI challenge. With my trusty gelatos, sewing machine and LOTS of Gesso, I was off to the races..!

EVIDENCE:

- Animals
- Glasses
- Camera
- Polaroid
- Texture Paste ( I substituted the paste with several layers of Gesso)
- Plastic ( Striped Hearts - Stars/Asterisks - Word Arrows )

TESTIMONY:

- I wrote on the background. As it states in my journalling, my granddaughter loves to take pictures and I can really see her creativity in this Selfie. It also shows a depth to her character that I truly admire, she is not only a cutie-patootie but she was recently on the Dean's Honour List at the University she attends.

CSI 313 - Home-made with Love...

Come and play with all of the Detectives over at CSI in their fun cases..!!

Here is my take on Case #313.... I loved all these soft wintry colours ( even though it was supposed to be more of a Spring theme )

EVIDENCE:

- Used all of the colours ( the darker blue is in the splatters)
- Circle patterns ( snowy background )
- Houses
- Branches ( Trees )
- Gold
- Weather elements ( Snow )

TESTIMONY:

- I have to admit I couldn't find a way to incorporate the "topic" for this case...I simply shared my feelings for this awesome family and in particular Mary Lou, who has been a dear, dear friend of mine...

Thanks for looking...!!

CSI 315 - Jaelin Flamingo...

It's April and time for another fun case over at CSI...come and play along..!!

Here's my take on Case #315.

EVIDENCE:

- I was able to use all of these colours ( and I must admit I originally felt daunted when I first saw them but finding this awesome photo of my granddaughter really fixed that problem..!!)
- Floral pattern
- Hexagon
- Bird
- Pom-Pom
- Plants ( not exactly in a pot )
- Puffy Stickers
- Stripes
- Paint ( watered down some acrylic paint for the flamingo's body )

TESTIMONY:

- Couldn't think of a poem or how to write about anything "homey"...not with this exotic photo of my granddaughter celebrating her 21st Birthday in a pool in Vegas...!!

Thanks for looking..!!
