Book Style Box..

I created this to hold the "Sister's" mini-album, that I had made for my cousin Betsy.. it was inspired from a YouTuber by the name of "TracylovestoScrap".
I made a few modifications so that it would be bigger and stronger than her original box, which was used as a card..
It took a bit of head scratching to figure it all out.. but it was well worth the effort and I will definitely be making one of these again!!

Here are a few of the *in the process* pics..

Creating the accordian sides...
Making sure of the measurements...
Covering the inside liners...Gluing them on to the side and the whole frame to a base...
Gluing the final box to the back cover...

Papers are from the Classic K McKenna Collection by K & Company
I have changed the closure ( since the video ).. it is now a Tim Holtz Large Swivel Clasp

Doodle Baby...

It's amazing how "flat" this picture looks, when it's really such a very dimensional page..
Here are some of the many flowers I stamped, embossed and coloured with my markers...I think they are so pretty..

The title was cut from my Alphalicious Cartridge and silouhetted using the shadow feature, such a nice effect...

The cut-out of my granddaughter Kiara popping out of the stamped-embossed frame adds another playful element to the page..

These butterflies, from a Martha Stewart punch..embossed and matted in black, look like they might just fly off the page...!!

The white background page has a hand drawn pencil-line frame with some doodled scalloping, coloured in with an orange marker...the script effect was created by using an Autumn Leaves - "Worth Repeating" stamp.. then over that, I hand cut a denim blue cardstock...embossed the edges..and layered my photo, flowers, clouds, title, frame and butterflies on that...

Children's pages especially, allow us so many opportunities to be playful, whimsical, to cut and colour "outside the lines"..and this was a lot of fun to do... so put away your store bought stuff.. just for a day..and make one of your own.. have fun!!

I cut a standard 4"x5-1/2" kraft cardstock card in half, to get a 4"x2-3/4" card...then I created a tag shape and covered it with a background Thank You Stamp in two ink tones... backed it on some black card stock .. wrapped it with some jute..added 2 embossed hearts.. tied a bow.. and called it a day!! hee hee

Dude...

Kids really like to mimic adults, don't they? hee hee...The photo is such a familiar pose that I just had to scrap it...Liam "calls" me on his play phone ..and it ALWAYS goes like this:

Liam: *ring* *ring*
Me: Pronto?
Liam: Hi Nonna.
Me: Hi Liam.
Liam: What are you doing?
Me: I'm talking to you on the phone.
Liam: Okay... Ciao!!
Me: Ciao! ( He'd already hung up... hee hee)

On this particular day we were waiting for Mom to drive us to his pre-kindergarten.. so we had that same wee chat....several times....( notice his pink Dragon-Slayer water pistol....)
