It's a Parade...!!

 

I live in a very small town.... but it's full of wonderful folks who like to celebrate life..and it shows in our Annual Parade that is held at the same time as our County's Exhibition...with lots of Farm Animals, Tractor Pulls..Horse Racing, Cotton Candy and a Fun Fairground full of rides...

I couldn't help myself...hee hee

I really liked the water color card I made a few days ago... and wanted to re-created it as a birthday card.... I added a few more flowers and green foliage.. filling out the white space even more...

The taller flowers remind me of Lupins, a wild flower which grows profusely here on Prince Edward Island in June...maybe that's why I like them so much!! hee hee

Just a quick card, completely inspired by all the beautiful water colored cards I have seen recently... especially by Nicole Magouirk, ( http://nicholmagouirk.typepad.com/things_that_really_matter/2014/06/mama-elephant-june-stampede.html) who herself was inspired by Dawn Woleslagle..

I used a mixture of many old stamps that I had transferred to a CD case, so I don't have their original manufacture's names... sorry... :(

I stamped the images with Tim Holtz Distress and inks, then fussy cut them and placed them in the Mason Jar... giving the card a bit more dimension...

Generally I just had a whole whack of fun....!!

Father's Day Card...

This year I seem to find myself committed to using products that I already have ( but yes I am still a shop-a-holic!! hee hee)..so I started with my dies... pulled out the one(s) that I liked in that moment.. then went looking for stamps to go with it....in the back of my mind I was thinking about my favourite oldest son and making him a non-traditional Father's Day Card...
I was pleased... :)
Now..how to deal with my scrappy addiction???!! hee hee

Graduation..

I was looking through my stamps when I came across this older set by Tim Holtz and I thought how appropriate it was for a graduation sentiment..I used the flower cluster stamp to create the background on the matt and behind the quote..
The design is simple, the banner style holds the focal image/sentiment and adds dimension to the card...and creating a vintage look, gives the quote a timelessness..
I guess the flowers means that I will be giving this one to a girl!! hee hee

With Graduations just around the corner, it seemed time to get crackin' ..
It's not often I make a card without stamping ( on the outside )..but this one had the perfect sentiment right on the paper...!!
A little fussy cutting, a bit of distress inking....some glossy accents..and I had myself a bit of a Steampunk look...perfect for any graduate... or even someone on any new adventure!

Be Happy...

Even though it snowed ( again ) yesterday, officially making it 6 months of Winter, so far.. most of it melted today and that feeling of Spring is back in the air...inspiring my "Be Happy" Card!! hee hee
I white embossed the flowers and leaves then painted them with Peacock Feathers, Mowed Lawn and Mustard Seed distress inks....then glossy accented the centers.
Papers were from Echo Park 6x6 pad - Happy Days and My Minds Eye 6x6 pad - Fine and Dandy Girl..did a little layering..
Hand stitched a framed border..popped it on a card base and Voila!!
