HE DIDN'T TELL ME HOW TO LIVE...
It's Case #6 over at CSI...and what fun!!
I love this photo of both my son D'Arcy and North Cape which is about a 15 minute drive from home..Ours is a wee Island in the North Atlantic but it's home to me...and I love every square inch of it!!
I have this photo as my background on my iPad..and I found myself staring it all the time...soooo I scrapped it!! hee hee
As the journalling states:
"This photo taken of my son D'Arcy by his partner Philip,
struck a deep chord in me of such admiration for the
courage it took to overcome his deepest fears & enabled
him to lead an authentic life... and the humbling gratitude
I feel that he never lost his incredible sense of adventure
& joy...but most of all, that light and gift of being able
to bring that out in others...Lucky me to have been his
Mom"

Oooh My....I received the Liebster Blog Award!!..
You just NEVER know who's looking, eh??...... hee hee
I started this blog primarily to share my "stuff" with family and friends..especially my scrappy friends... who would ask.... "Can I see that Layout you did?"... or..."Can you show me how you made that??"..
It's always nice to see other folks finding tips or inspiration from anything I have posted here but to get an award....wow.......... I am THRILLED!!
This award comes from a very sweet lady, by the name of Linda Pekrul ( who I don't even know..... yet!!).. she can be found over on her VERY Creative Blog site: Blue Sky Scrapping - http://blueskyscrapping.blogspot.com/
This award means SO much because it is from fellow scrappers:
Thank you Linda!! I will be posting and sharing this award with 5 bloggers by tomorrow...( I have some ladies coming over to scrap tonight and need to get ready for them....)
Yay!!....Can't wait to share it!!

This award means SO much because it is from fellow scrappers:
"Liebster" is a German word meaning dearest, beloved or favorite, and the Liebster Award is sort of a chain letter among bloggers that's inteded to showcase exceptional up-and-coming blogs (typically, those with 200 or fewer followers). There's no evaluation committee or formal award process for the Liebster, but in a way it's even nicer - it's recognition that a peer has noticed and appreciated your hard work.
Here are the rules:
Choose 5 up-and-coming blogs of fewer than 200 followers to award the Liebster to.
Show your thanks to the blogger who gave you the award by linking back to them.
Post the award on your blog. Link back to the blogs you have given the Liebster to so everyone else can pay them a visit.
Thank you Linda!! I will be posting and sharing this award with 5 bloggers by tomorrow...( I have some ladies coming over to scrap tonight and need to get ready for them....)
Yay!!....Can't wait to share it!!

Look I did it...
It's week 4 over at CSI ( http://csicolorstoriesinspiration.ning.com ) .... and oh what a challenge...color and embellishment choices that I would never have made for myself.... and just as importantly.. a fun and relaxed group of folks....so head on over and play along...
As I looked over the layout suggestions...I immediately thought of these photos that I had taken of Liam last summer... right after his 4th birthday... when he received his new Roller Blades and safety Gear...
He just HAD to do it all by himself!!.. and you know what.... he did!! hee hee

Attagirl...
Maybe it's the time of year...when old man winter puts me in hibernation mode....and because of that, I am so glad for Scrapbook Challenges...especially the fun ones over at CSI.... this is Challenge 3..with colors like Lavender..that I would rarely if EVER work with!!
My grandaughter Kiara finally found her voice and asked to take Riding Lessons....something she has wanted to do since she was 5....well....as the journalling says....she had to overcome her shyness in order to ride better...it was so sincerely wonderful to watch that process in her...and I am one very proud Nonna!! hee hee

Oh Dear Me...
I decided to enter a challenge over at CSI ( http://csicolorstoriesinspiration.ning.com/ )...they just began this website and it's proving to be a lot of fun place..... so head on over!!
Each week's "Case" is based on a Color "Scheme"...along with some interesting "Clues" found in the "Evidence" and "Testimony" files....what a trip!!.. hee hee
This particular Case lead me to seek out a much younger photo of myself... at 10....which is almost 50 years ago...( as I will be turning 60 this year) .and the journaling was to be about...advice.. or experiences in our journey...I found it to be a VERY emotional experience as I tried to write my journal...I kept looking at the face of this very sweet young girl.... and finding myself getting a wee bit teary..... okay... a LOT teary... hee hee..but then I found myself writing something truly heartfelt..and uplifting to me....
The journaling is hidden behind the older photo of myself... which you can see in one of the closeup photos....and it says:
"Oh Little Girl...I wish I could reach back through time
and simply hold you and tell you... in such a way that you
could truly hear me.... just how much I love you and no
matter who or what comes along...you are amazing..I remember
all those times you were afraid and lonely..but I am SO
grateful for your strength and courage, that got us here today...
Thank You....."

My Travel Log...
I have so many beautiful pictures of my trip to Peggy's Cove last Fall.... but I didn't feel like making a 2-pager..and I really wanted to use that BIG awesome photo of the lighthouse and that one lonesome Seagull...
Did a LOT of stamping...I found the messier this page got... the better I liked it!! hee hee
And another point...I'd like to make... some of you will notice that my handwriting is ...well..... ummm... not very neat or tidy..... but it IS my handwriting and I think that is important to record...as much as the photos and story.....So don't be shy.... your children, grandchildren and all those down the road.... will appreciate that little bit of you... that you preserved...
:)
